Interior Announces New Refuge Unit in Kansas

The Department of Interior has announced the creation of the Flint Hills Legacy Conservation Area in Kansas. This conservation unit will be a part of the National Wildlife Refuge System.

USFWS Terminates Relationship with Montana Friends Group

The Missoulian in Montana is reporting that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge has abruptly ended its relationship with the Friends of the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge organization.

The Associated Press is reporting that a federal judge has blocked exploratory oil and gas drilling at Baca National Wildlife Refuge, which is close to the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado.
